About Pharmacist Write
I’m Andrew Gilberto Vargas, a pharmacist, systems thinker, and the writer behind Pharmacist Write.
This platform is the product of years spent inside formulary design, coverage logic, and the quiet frustration of watching pharmacy policy
remain unclear to nearly everyone outside the room.
Now, I write and build to change that.
I’m also developing The Policy Vault, a growing utility that will distill thousands of coverage policies into human-readable, machine-ready
insight. It’s my contribution toward a clearer drug access landscape—one that empowers brokers, consultants, market access leaders, providers, clinicians and patients alike.
Why I Write
About 7 years ago, I asked my professor, Dan Krinsky, “How do pharmacists get started in writing?”
He answered simply: “Start writing.”
It took me time tom implement his advice, and I feel fortunate to be a pharmacist born from drug policy analysis. But now I have an opportunity to build my own ideas from scratch. Now I don’t just want to reflect on pharmacy—I want to shape what it can become.
